Take a look at what inspires me behind the scenes of SALLY♡THINGS.
SALLY♡THINGS
Family.
The Tran Clan.
My family is my life. There’s no one like them. We are Vietnamese and that has had a huge impact on my upbringing and who I am today. My parents and their parents and siblings came to America for a better chance of life for their future and their future families. I am proud of being the first US born generation. I get to live out the life my parents wanted for us and worked so hard for with the Vietnamese traditions passed down throughout many generations before me.
I am the 2nd oldest out of 4 kids. I get to be the oldest younger sibling. I do not have a family of my own, but get to be the favorite auntie to all of my beautiful nieces and nephew. The Tran Clan is still growing and I can’t wait to be apart of their lives growing up as did my aunts and uncles have with me.

My parents are the hardest working people I know. They are my heroes that I admire the most in my life. I got to see beautiful love between two people and also the strength to move on when it is no longer there. Growing up with immigrant parents isn’t easy, but I wouldn’t ever think about having it any other way. I’m lucky to have both qualities of my parents that I will get to pass on to my kids one day. I want to give them the world because they deserve that and much more.
Love.
Learning self love and to love.
I love so hard and so much, but for whatever reason I don’t pour that same amount of love into myself. It’s the most important love there is, self love. I’m learning to unlearn the bad and creating a safe space for my current self and safe space for my inner child to make mistakes, feel, laugh, cry, speak and most importantly grow. The self growth that I’ve accomplished already has been a wild ride and I know there’s a lot more ahead of me. I hope to be this wonderful and loving soul that brings happiness and a sense of warmth to those around me including myself.

Vivi con amore ♡

I am happy to have experience love and all the types of love there is and what it could possibly bring. To love unconditionally speaks volumes. Love will teach you all kinds of things about yourself and others, both the good and bad. You have to choose love to find what you want out of love. The memories we get to hold on to, we get to keep for ourselves, even with love itself.
Loving every little thing in the world ♡ Always.

Friends.
The ones who I hold so close to my heart, the main inspiration and support.
Who do we depend on? FRIENDS!
LET ME TELL YOU ‘BOUT MY BESTTTT FRIENDDDD. I’m blessed on blessed on blessed on blessed to be surrounded by these people that I call my friends! There’s literally no one like them. You can’t choose your family, but you can choose your friends. I really hold them close to my heart, every one of them. I’ve been through so many rough patches and they have always been by my side for all of it. I just want to watch them live their best lives. I really feel so lucky to have them. The amount of memories that I have with them are insane and best believe I’m going to share all of our crazy stories.

They say you have soulmates out there, but can it be groups of people? That’s how I would describe my friends. I can dedicate and write a whole page on why I love and appreciate them so much. They really keep me grounded, they call me out on my bullshit and support the shit out of me. It’s never a dull moment, always pure joy and happiness when with them. The amount of love and care that we give and spread to each other is the most beautiful feeling and I hope everyone gets to experience that in their lifetime.
Others.
Fashion.
From your regular smhegular outfits to rave fits, I’m always putting something together and finding a new way to add that little bit of extra, that is me. My favorite outfits to create would definitely be rave/music festival ones. I get inspirations from runways, stylists and just from the life around me.
Music.
I listen to tons of different genres, with the exception of country. (Sorry guys) What you can catch me listening to majority of the time is EDM. I also absolutely LOVE going to music festivals! The vibes are just so welcoming and happy. I always just feel so at home. Lost Lands is my favorite festival so far with Electric Forest following in second.
Travels.
I’ve always dreamt of exploring the world and I’ve gotten the privilege of starting too. There’s just so much out there to see and experience than just your own hometown. Each place visited, I leave a little bit of my heart there. There’s always a lesson and a new love for life in every exploration.
Eats and Drinks.
I grew up in “Beer City” aka Grand Rapids, Michigan, where there is always something new to eat or drink. I grew up eating Vietnamese and American foods and had the pleasures of tasting other authentic plates from various different cultures. I’m always on the look out for a new bite or sip.

“There is a stirring in my soul; a restless, wild anticipation. I am staring out into the horizon, as far as I can. I can’t see what’s beyond it – But I can feel it”

“If I had to walk to get to you it would take eight hundred and twenty-six hours. On bad days I think about it, what I might do if the apocalypse comes and the planes stop flying. There is so much time to think, so much empty space wanting to be consumed, but no intimacy around to consume it. It feels like being stuck at a train station waiting and waiting and waiting for the one with your name on it. When the moon rises on this coast, but the sun still burns shamelessly on yours. I crumble knowing even our skies are different. We have been together so long, but have we really been together if your touch has not held me long enough to imprint itself on my skin? I try my hardest to stay present, but without you here everything at its best is only mediocre.”

“Breathe in, breathe out slowly, and count to ten. There is no rule book on how to cope when these things end. You may not feel it now, but things will get better, even if life doesn’t tell you when.”
